Bev Busson, former Commissioner of the RCMP
Topic: The RCMP’s connection to the community, the changing face of Surrey and the evolution of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Bev Busson was the first female to hold this post of Commistioned of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and joined the RCMP in 1974. In 2004,she was made the Commander of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces and in 2006, she was awarded the Order of British Columbia. On June 17, 2010, she was awarded the Doctor of Laws honourary degree by Simon Fraser University.
