SFU has just launched a new Innovation Strategy designed
to advance the University's national leadership in fostering
entrepreneurship and supporting economic and social
development. The strategy rejects traditional university
approaches, substituting an 'open innovation' model that
encourages collaboration and pulls research ideas to the
marketplace. SFU President Andrew Petter will describe the new
strategy and discuss the ways it will help Surrey businesses to
grow and create jobs, even as it assists civil society to improve
health outcomes and address other pressing social needs.
A question and answer period will be included in the program.
