Sundar Prize Film Festival 2025
The Sundar Prize Film Festival is a leading platform for diverse storytelling, dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices and fostering social change through the power of film. Founded in British Columbia, the festival highlights stories from BIPOC, 2SLGBTQ+, Indigenous, and other marginalized communities, with a strong focus on equity, inclusion, and meaningful representation.
In 2024, the inaugural festival featured 228 film submissions, screened 66% Canadian films, and awarded 50% of its prizes to female directors and 66% to BIPOC filmmakers. With over 450 attendees and 22 media articles published, it achieved IMDb-qualifying status in its first year.
The 2025 edition promises to be even bigger, showcasing 38 Canadian films (with 31 from British Columbia), 53.7% female directors, and 66.7% BIPOC filmmakers. With feature films, shorts, workshops, and panel discussions, the festival continues to empower emerging talent, engage local communities, and champion inclusive storytelling on a global stage.
