September 20, 2016 - Canadian Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Security (OAS) for Business People
The session will include: eligibility and the actuarial factors if one takes their CPP early retirement; as well as survivor, death, disability benefits, credit splitting, pension sharing, and the child rearing provision, as well as international benefits. We will discuss the eligibility for OAS benefits, including those for low income seniors which is based on marital status, income thresholds, and age requirements, these include the Guaranteed Income Supplement, allowance, and allowance for survivor. We will also cover the recovery tax on OAS and how international benefits assist with eligibility for the OAS at 65.
