Attend this digital event to explore business and trade opportunities in France, hosted by the Surrey Board of Trade's Surrey International Trade Centre and the Consul General of France in Vancouver Nicolas Baudouin and Economic Affairs Officer Marianne Ollitrault.
Nicolas began his duties as the Consul General of France in Vancouver in September 2021. His jurisdiction comprises of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. Following higher education studies in Political Science and in Chinese, Nicolas joined France's diplomatic and consular network as an International Volunteer in administration (VIA) at the Embassy of France in Vietnam's Cultural Affairs section from 2001 to 2002. In 2004, he joined the French diplomatic service, International Cooperation and Development Department. He then joined the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs for three years until 2009 before being posted to the European External Action Service's European Economic and Trade Office in Taipei, between 2009 and 2012. After that, he returned to the diplomatic and consular network at the French Embassy in Phnom Penh, as First Secretary and Spokesperson until 2016. Back in Paris, he was assigned to the United Nations and International Organizations Department, as a desk officer and then Head of the Economic and Global Affairs office. From 2017 to 2021, he became an advisor for the Secretary-General of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. He is married and has two daughters.
Marianne Ollitrault was born in France. She studied economics and public health. After she graduated, she applied for the French Government Youth Program and is the current Economic Affairs Officer, with the Consulate General of France in Vancouver.
