March 3, 2016 - Mental Health and the Workplace Workshop
Each week, 500,000 Canadians don?t feel well enough to go to work because of a mental illness. The Canadian economy spends over $51 billion a year in lost productivity due to workplace mental illness. Canadian businesses are realizing 30% of disability claims and 70% of disability costs are due to mental health problems.
Gain insight and develop confidence by building your own mental health literacy and by learning the difference between mental health and mental illness. Using the four ?Rs? framework, learn how to recognize the warning signs and develop supportive communications skills that will help you respond and take positive steps to help. This workshop is perfect for the workplace, and for those who regularly interact with the public.
This workshop is facilitated by the Canadian Mental Health Association and supported by WorkSafeBC.
