The Life Licence Qualification Program (LLQP) is the first step to applying for a life insurance licence. Taking the LLQP at Ashton College, in partnership with IFSE, allows you to learn from industry professionals with years of experience in their field. Ashton?s LLQP focuses on real-world case studies to help students develop practical, applicable skills, as well as providing them with the education necessary to pass the provincial LLQP licensing examination, which is administered by the Insurance Council of British Columbia. The program covers the 12 separate modules needed to write the LLQP licensing exam, and is a requirement for obtaining a Life Insurance Licence from the Insurance Council of British Columbia. The LLQP takes place over 3 days (Friday ? Sunday), with the qualifying examination taking place the following Tuesday. The program describes individual and group life insurance products and discusses the available accident and sickness products. At Ashton, LLQP students will also learn about non-insurance investment products such as mutual funds, stocks and bonds, issues and claims, taxation, retirement strategies, needs analysis and risk management, as well as legal and professional standards.
