First annual Touch-a-Truck event!
Beep! Beep! Kids of all ages should steer over to the first annual Touch-a-Truck event at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre on Sunday, August 7th, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Event admission is FREE.
Touch-a-Truck will be a fun, hands-on and educational event for kids of all ages to see their favourite trucks up close including: a police hummer, fire engines, city collections truck, emergency response vehicles and more! Each vehicle will have an interactive, entertaining, and educational activity along with their truck on display.
“Global Spectrum is thrilled to host the first annual Touch-a-Truck event here in Abbotsford,” said Global Spectrum’s Jason Blumenfeld, General Manager of the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre. “This educational and interactive event is great for kids and kids at heart. We look forward to seeing the community come out not only to see these fantastic trucks, cars and machines but also learn a fun fact or two.”
“The Touch a Truck event at Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre will be a great event for kids of all ages to enjoy,” said Mayor George W. Peary. “Many of the vehicles that will be there are machines that you would normally only ever see in operation at a distance or on television. I encourage everyone to come out and meet some of the people that operate these amazing vehicles, and try out for themselves what it feels like to sit in the driver’s seat!”
Sponsors for this special event include the Abbotsford News, Country 107, 98.3 Star FM, The City of Abbotsford and The University of the Fraser Valley.
Families are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items in support of The Food Bank.

Free parking will be available in both the Fraser Valley Automall Premium Lot on College Way as well as Lot 5 across the main gates of the AESC on University Way.
