February 24, 2021 - A Perspective on the Surrey Police Transition
As the City of Surrey forges ahead with their planned transition to the Surrey Police Service, costs, crime, safety and social issues such as the opioid crisis, mental health, and homelessness remain a top concern among Surrey businesses. We will be joined by the National Police Federation (NPF)'s Brian Sauve, President, and Trevor Dinwoodie, Board Member - Pacific Region, to hear their unique and valuable perspective.
The NPF is the sole certified bargaining agent representing close to 20,000 Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) across Canada, including over 850 Members in Surrey and over 6,500 Members in British Columbia. The NPF is focused on improving public safety in Canada and on increasing resources, equipment, training and supports for their Members.
