The Surrey Board of Trade has partnered with the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to bring you training on the newly released Incoterms® 2020.
What Are Incoterms® Rules?
ICC?s Incoterms® rules are the world?s essential terms of trade for the trade of goods. Whether you are filing a purchase order, packaging and labelling a shipment for freight transport or preparing a certificate of origin at a port, the Incoterms® rules are there to guide you on the costs, risks and obligations for your business. Incoterms®2020 were introduced in January 2020.
Training
This one day course will provide a comprehensive overview of the new 2020 version of the terms and the differences between the 2010 version. The Incoterms® 2020 course offered by the Surrey Board of Trade and FITT will be the only in-class training in Canada that is done by trainers who are officially recognized by the International Chamber of Commerce.

Incoterms® 2020 Training (Canada Launch)
The International Chamber of Commerce Incoterms® rules are the world?s essential terms of trade for the sale of goods. Incoterms® are used in contracts to clearly communicate the obligations, costs, and risks associated with the transportation and delivery of goods. This guidance provides clarity for sellers and buyers and helps facilitate trade. This Incoterms® 2020 Training course is designed to help exporters, importers, sales staff, contract experts, shipping and receiving personnel, trade finance specialists, trade compliance managers, and other supply-chain professionals gain an understanding of the latest edition of the Incoterms® rules (which came into effect on 1 January 2020). The course will provide background, detail of Incoterms® 2020 Definitions/Rules and Obligations, and detail the main changes that have takien effect.
Companies and professionals attending the session will be able to:
· Understand how to properly incorporate Incoterms® 2020 into pro forma invoices and sales contracts
· Identify corporate sales strategies that lower risks and costs
· Identify the correct Incoterms® 2020 rule for specific transactions
· Determine the obligations, risks and costs for both sellers and buyers
· Avoid common errors when using Incoterms
· Use Incoterms to the company?s advantage
This professional training is excellent for beginners and will also serve as an in-depth refresher with important updates for experienced professionals.
