February 17, 2027 - Building AI Skills: The First Step to Creating Your Own AI Agents

Take a leap from understanding AI to creating reusable Skills in Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini for recurring business tasks.

In this interactive workshop, participants will work toward creating a draft Skill tailored to one small, recurring business task using their own digital reference materials. A Skill acts as a reusable playbook, capturing instructions for how AI should handle a specific task. After a plain-language introduction to Skills and a live demonstration, attendees will build and refine a reusable Skill connected to their own work. A practical guide will support the hands-on portion. No coding or technical background is required.

Participants will learn to

  • Understand what Skills are and how they support recurring business tasks.
  • Create a first draft of a Skill designed for a specific, repetitive business task.
  • Use examples to show AI the desired tone, structure, and quality, and reference materials to guide the information it uses.
  • Create tailored instruction sets to help AI-generated outputs reflect their brand’s tone, style, and quality standards.
The goal is a useful first version that participants can continue developing. Those who finish building and saving their Skill during the session can run an initial test. Progress will depend on preparation, platform access, individual pace, and the scope of the chosen task.

Ece Boz Fulton, a Certified AI Consultant and Founder of Lighthouse AI, will facilitate this session.

IMPORTANT:
This workshop focuses on creating Skills; building complete AI agents, database creation, technical automations, one-time projects, and tasks performed only occasionally are outside its scope.

Participants should choose work they complete regularly and for which they already have examples of strong past output.

Beginners must attend the preceding AI fundamentals seminar or complete foundational preparation before the workshop. Participants already familiar with AI use and prompting may attend directly.

Participants must bring:
  • A laptop and charger
  • A direct account with Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini, on at least the basic paid plan, with access to Skill creation
  • An account that is fully set up, signed in, and ready to use before the workshop
  • The current Claude or ChatGPT desktop app installed, or access to Gemini’s web app, depending on their chosen platform
  • A clear idea for one repetitive task they want to improve
  • Two or three examples showing your preferred tone, style, structure, or output
  • Any supporting instructions, FAQs, details about your products or services, or reference materials needed for the Skill
  • All materials digitized and ready to use in formats supported by their chosen platform
Participants may bring their own non-sensitive business documents or use public or fictional sample materials.

Registered participants will receive setup instructions two days before the workshop to help them prepare their chosen platform. All required setup must be completed before the session.

Accounts provided through third-party services that bundle access to multiple AI models cannot be used for this workshop because they may not support the required Skill features. There will not be enough time during the session to create accounts, install software, resolve login problems, or prepare participants’ materials.

Please do not bring personal information, client or employee data, confidential documents, or other sensitive materials.
