BC Employer Consultation
Attracting and Retaining Skilled Immigrant Talent
The Immigrant Employment Council of BC and Human Capital Strategies (HCS) invite Surrey businesses and employers experienced with hiring immigrants to participate in an employer focus group on February 10, 2012 to provide input on immigrant hiring and retention.
Immigration accounts for more and more of Canada's labour force growth. Combined with the worldwide talent shortage poised to hit employers by 2015, a declining birth rate and a retiring baby boomer generation - the strategic value of tapping into our Province's vast pool of professional immigrants as a way to fulfill labour force needs becomes more pronounced than ever before.
The consultation aims to obtain the views and advice of BC employers on their needs and requirements in attracting, hiring and retaining immigrants in their workforces. It is expected to yield recommendations on effective labour market development programs and policies along with concrete tools and resources for employers that will help impact their bottom line.
HCS is looking for 8 to 12 volunteers. Please join us to share your experiences and recommendations.
