The European Economic Union comprises 28 member states for a total population of approximately 500 million making it a highly desirable, if often overlooked, export market for Canadian businesses. Canadian companies enjoy a strong reputation in Europe for the quality of their products and their sound and ethical management practices. Philip Turi, Director of Global Business Services from CME's National headquarters will be in Vancouver to launch the Enterprise Canada Network ("ECN"), an industry-led single window platform that connects Canadian small businesses and researchers to qualified global opportunities, facilitates international partnerships and creates trade through access to public and private sector resources. In partnership with the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), ECN provides access to 600+ partner organizations in 54 countries that work together to promote economic growth through business innovation, export development and research collaboration, connecting and supporting more than 2.5 million companies and organizations worldwide. Following the presentation of ECN, a panel discussion will follow two with prominent European Consuls General, the President of the European Chamber of Commerce in Western Canada. They will discuss, debate and take questions on CETA the European economies that present the most appealing opportunities for Canadian businesses today, both for supply chain integration and as final sales markets.
