On Sept 11, 2011 we will be hosting the 3rd annual Surrey Ovarian Cancer mini walk. This is an opportunity to gather together as a community and raise funds for Ovarian cancer research leading to an early detection test.
Ovarian Cancer willaffect 1 in 70 women and has a 90% survival rate WITH early detection. There are currently NO tests for early detection. PAP exams DO NOT test for ovarian cancer. 72% of women diagnosed late will die within 5 years.
All funds raised will go to support research to find an early detection method as well as educate women on this disease.
So please come out and walk as a community to help us raise funds and awareness.
Event open to all ages. Please go to www.ovarianacanada.org/walkofhope to register.
