SUMMARY:April 1\, 2022 - FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOCUS ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN BC: Surrey and the new Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada
DESCRIPTION:The Surrey Board of Trade and the South Asian Business Association are pleased to host Federal Minister of International Development and Minister Responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada Harjit Sajjan for his first address to BC's business community in this role.\n\n\n\nFor the first time in more than three decades\, the Government of Canada is enhancing its federal economic development presence and services in Western Canada by creating two regional development agencies for British Columbia and the Prairie provinces. It will build on Western Economic Diversification Canada's (WD) 34 year legacy to work more closely with BC businesses\, innovators\, and communities\; promote connections and investments to foster economic growth\; and help organizations navigate federal programs and policies.\n\n\n\nSponsorship opportunities are available. Please contact Rhona at events@businessinsurrey.com.\n\n\nHealth & Safety Protocols\n\n\n	All Provincial Health Order guidelines in effect on the day of the event will be adhered to.\n	Masks must be worn at all times\, unless seated at your table.\n	On the date of the event\, you must be fully vaccinated to attend. Your BC Vaccine Card and photo ID must be presented upon entry. \n	All SBOT staff\, venue staff and other vendors at the event are required to be fully vaccinated. \n	We will continue to distance seats as much as possible in the event space.\n	Anyone not adhering to our health & safety protocols will be asked to leave. \n	Refunds will not be issued if you are removed or denied admittance for failure to comply with health & safety protocols.
